Career Training

Three hands-on programs. One campus.

Every program combines lecture, demonstration, and supervised practical work — first on mannequins and practice models, then in supervised clinic services on the student clinic floor.

Esthetics — 750 clock hours

Theory training: 250 hours. Practical training: 500 hours. The practical training is rigorous and extremely in-depth. Theory training covers about twenty-one chapters, plus advanced spa techniques for estheticians.

Esthetician practical examination content. The NIC esthetician practical examination covers the professional tasks a licensed esthetician can be expected to perform. Candidates use a live model for the examination. The scope of the practical examination includes the seven core domain areas: client protection, cleansing the face, steaming the face, massaging the face, application of the mask, hair removal of the eyebrows, and facial makeup.

Clients: students are required to bring 60 clients for esthetics clinical procedures. Dress code: esthetician jacket, clean clothes, comfortable footwear — no heels, no jewelry, no long nails.

Massage Therapy — 600 clock hours

A program that prepares individuals to provide relief and improved health and well-being to clients through the application of manual techniques for manipulating skin, muscles, and connective tissue. Our massage therapist program is a hands-on approach to massage. Upon completion of the program, the graduate will receive a diploma and will be prepared to sit for the MBLEx examination to become a licensed massage therapist.

The student will be trained in performing therapeutic massage utilizing a variety of techniques. The program provides the student with entry-level theory and hands-on training in massage techniques that the student will utilize to promote physical health and well-being. Instruction includes teaching principles and effective techniques and modalities; the faculty uses a wide base of knowledge and years of hands-on massage therapy business and practical experience. Students learn how to provide hands-on care to clients for the purpose of relieving soft tissue pain and connective tissue trauma, and massage techniques to assist in relaxation. The professional massage therapist is proficient in wellness, nutrition, medical ethics, trigger points of the body, as well as the business management of a massage therapist business.

Final written and final practical examinations require a score of 70% or better to pass, and students must maintain a cumulative 70% average in theory and practical work to make satisfactory academic progress.
